LUT Laser equipment
LUT Laser was founded in 1985 and the first high power laser was acquired the following year. At first the focus of research was on laser welding, surface treatment, and laser cutting, and the core competencies of LUT Laser still revolve around laser material processing. However, since then the research has evolved to include wider aspects of laser material processing, such as occupational safety, and economical studies of laser processing. Laser fine machining and laser additive manufacturing (3D printing) are relatively new processes that have been studied more intensively since 2009. LUT Laser has 5 different work stations, and also other equipment (see table) available for material processing.
